A Complete Guide to the Best Wedding Venues in the Adirondacks

It’s hard to beat the magic of the Adirondacks, especially if you’re dreaming of a quiet, nature-filled wedding that feels personal and true to you. From lakeside cabins to cozy upscale camps, this region is full of venues that feel like they’re tucked away from the hustle and bustle of life. The kind of places where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and be fully present with the people you love most.

Whether you’re drawn to vibrant fall foliage or lush summer greens, the Adirondacks give you a little bit of everything, plus that small-town charm that makes it all feel even more special. If you’re searching for Adirondacks wedding venues that embrace nature and make space for connection, then keep reading to explore some of my favorite spots for a wedding weekend in the mountains.

Why Get Married in the Adirondacks

The Adirondacks are a truly special part of upstate New York, filled with diverse mountain ranges and fascinating geological history. To me, this region has always felt a little more secluded and intimate compared to some of the other places in New England—which, while beautiful, can sometimes feel a bit busier. The Adirondacks offer a peaceful escape, tucked away with a quiet, cozy vibe that’s perfect for couples wanting something a little more low-key and authentic.

  • Scenic Diversity: From crystal-clear lakes to sweeping mountain overlooks, the Adirondacks provide endless options for ceremony spots and portraits.
  • A True Weekend Getaway: If you’re traveling from NYC, the drive to the Adirondacks is surprisingly easy. But once you arrive, it feels like you’ve stepped into a completely different world filled with fresh air, starry nights, and charming small towns that have a true community vibe.
  • Seasonal Beauty: The Adirondacks are magical any time of year. Summer offers plenty to do, from lake swims, campfires, and relaxed, warm evenings, while fall is stunning magic of its own!

Planning Tip: If you’re planning to explore hiking trails or nature spots during your wedding weekend, be sure to check if you need a parking reservation. Some popular areas now require them, especially during peak seasons, so it’s good to plan ahead.

Best Adirondacks Wedding Venues for Intimate Nature Celebrations

Here are a few of my favorite small wedding venues in the Adirondacks that offer a beautiful blend of comfort, nature, and personality.

Forest Lake Camp

Location: Chestertown, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to ~150 guests

What Makes This Venue Unique: If you’re dreaming of a summer camp wedding with a touch of luxury, few venues combine both as well as Forest Lake Camp. Think upscale camp vibes with rustic cabins, lakeside ceremony spots, and tons of on-site activities like kayaking and hiking. While the camp operates as a traditional children’s summer camp, it transforms into an incredible Adirondacks wedding venue for couples who want an adventurous weekend celebration. Weddings here mean you’ll have exclusive access to the camp’s 823 acres for you and your guests to explore all weekend long.

An Ideal Choice for: Couples planning a full wedding weekend, mixed with a little luxury and campfire vibes.

Garnet Hill Lodge

Location: North River, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to 120 guests

What Makes This Venue Unique: Garnet Hill Lodge is a cozy mountain wedding venue and hotel overlooking the nearby Thirteenth Lake. The venue offers multiple packages and customizations for weddings of any size, making it one of my favorite choices for small wedding venues in the Adirondacks. One of the other things I absolutely love about this venue is that it shines year-round. Whether you’re dreaming of summer kayaking, crisp fall foliage, or a cozy winter gathering by the fire, this venue is equally beautiful any time of year. With plenty of on-site activities and breathtaking views, it’s a charming home base for a wedding weekend in the mountains.

An Ideal Choice for: Couples looking for a warm, lodge-style celebration with the option for cross-country skiing or hiking right out the door.

Adirondack Woodcraft Summer Camps

Location: Old Forge, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to 150 guests

What Makes This Venue Unique: Another incredible summer camp wedding venue I couldn’t leave off this list is Adirondack Woodcraft Summer Camps. This spot delivers all the nostalgic charm of classic camp vibes (think bunkhouses, forest trails, and lakefront ceremony options), while still offering a beautiful and intentional setting for your day. Just 7 miles from downtown Old Forge, NY, it strikes the perfect balance between feeling totally tucked away in nature while still having easy access to shops, restaurants, and local comforts.

An Ideal Choice for: Anyone who wants to lean into a camp-style wedding experience with games, fires, and lots of quality time with guests.

The Promise Gardens of Adirondacks

Location: Athol, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to 150 guests

What Makes This Venue Unique: I am absolutely in love with this wedding venue in the Adirondacks! The only dedicated garden wedding venue on this list, The Promise Gardens of the Adirondacks is designed specifically with weddings in mind. That means you’ll get the benefit of experienced staff, a curated list of preferred vendors, and a layout that flows beautifully from ceremony to reception. Weddings here also do not skip on beautiful views! From peaceful nature backdrops to blooming gardens at the center, and access to nearby lakes, this venue is truly rooted in nature and full of color!

An Ideal Choice for: Garden lovers and couples looking for a venue that blends charm, beauty, and a more seamless, all-in-one planning experience.

The Point

Location: Saranac Lake, NY

Guest Capacity: Please contact the venue for details

What Makes This Venue Unique: The Point Resort is something truly special. Once a Rockefeller Great Camp, it’s now an adults-only, all-inclusive resort that blends luxury with Adirondack nostalgia. The hand-crafted log cabins, the crackling fireplaces, and the personalized service are all designed to make you feel tucked away in a world that’s slower, more intentional, and wildly beautiful. It’s the kind of place where black-tie dinners and quiet canoe rides can both be part of your weekend.

Note: Children are allowed when the property is exclusively reserved.

An Ideal Choice for: Couples planning a high-end, immersive wedding weekend with a secluded, vintage-lake-house feel.

Best Adirondack Wedding Venues for a More Modern Vibe

Eastwind Lake Placid

Location: Lake Placid, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to ~100 guests (contact the venue for details)

What Makes This Venue Unique: If you’re drawn to clean design, cozy textures, and being just minutes from some of the best hiking in the Adirondacks, Eastwind Lake Placid might be your dream spot. This modern, design-forward property brings together cabin-style charm with Scandinavian-inspired interiors (seriously, the rooms are so cute and thoughtfully done). Choosing this Adirondack wedding venue means you’re close to all the action in downtown Lake Placid (think post-ceremony dinner at a local spot or a celebratory drink by the lake), plus easy access to boat rentals and year-round trails just minutes away.

An Ideal Choice for: Couples who want a sleek, laid-back place to gather with loved ones and want a little bit of modern luxury without losing that mountain town feel.

Bluebird Lake Placid

Location: Lake Placid, NY

Guest Capacity: Up to 50-100 guests

What Makes This Venue Unique: While it isn’t a typical Adirondack wedding venue, Bluebird Lake Placid is a wonderful pick for couples who want a small, intimate wedding with character. You can host a first look on the waterfront, wander downtown for local bites, and head back to an evening under string lights in their garden lounge. Weddings here feel modern and intimate and, of course, full of all the Lake Placid charm.

An Ideal Choice For: Couples seeking a cozy, design-forward gathering spot that feels more like a curated home-away-from-home than a ballroom. It’s the perfect Adirondacks wedding venue for portrait sessions, small elopement ceremonies, or even private rehearsal dinners with your favorite people.

When to Plan Your Adirondack Wedding

If you’re considering reserving one of these wedding venues in the Adirondacks, my top seasonal picks for planning a wedding in this area are late spring through early fall:

  • Late Spring: Fresh blooms, fewer crowds, and that amazing feeling of winter finally breaking.
  • Summer: Long days by the lake and campfires in the evenings—this is prime wedding weekend season in the Adirondacks.
  • Fall: Fall foliage in the Adirondacks is unreal. If you’re dreaming of those warm tones in your photos, September through early October is your best bet. (Click here to learn about some of my other favorite elopement locations in New England, if you’re dreaming of a fall elopement or wedding).

Note: Some of the wedding venues listed have seasonal availability, so be sure to confirm those details when booking.
