Margo & James | Branford House Wedding

1/09/2022

Margo & James’ Branford House wedding was an experience that I’ll never forget. Their wedding was overflowing with joy, and their love for each other as well as for their families was such a highlight. It was a privilege to be able to document Margo & James’ day, and now I get to share their story (and their photos!) with you.

Margo & James’ Branford House Wedding

I’ve known M & J since early 2019, when they originally inquired with me for their wedding. As has been the case with many couples within the last few years, they had to reschedule their original wedding date due to COVID. I’ve been with them throughout the entire process, and it’s been amazing to see their love for each other grow even more in the months leading up to their wedding day. They’ve found ways to make their original date special – for example, by having me surprise Margo with a photo shoot on that day! They find so many ways to express their love for each other, and I’ve loved being able to be a part of that.

One of the things that was highlighted on their wedding day was their family. You can immediately sense that family is a huge priority in their lives, and they definitely incorporated that into their day! Margo had her grandmother’s wedding dress displayed at their reception venue, surrounded by framed family wedding photos. How sweet is that? Both of them expressed that one of the things they were looking forward to the most was having their first dance together as husband and wife. They wanted their day to be filled with joy, elegance, and love; which is exactly what it felt like.

What I loved about my experience with Margo & James

Margo + James truly made every experience leading up to their day unique to them both! They read love notes to each other during their engagement session, bought their favorite pizza to enjoy, and even bought me little baked goods from a local bakery. My favorite part of them as a couple is seeing how important make each other feel, including everyone around them, which made me even more passionate about documenting their love story. On top of all that, never have I felt so taken care of by a couple before! They made sure to check in with me throughout the entire process – telling me to rest, asking how I was doing, and overall being extremely thoughtful while we were working together. My time with these two will always be so precious.

A little about Margo & James

Of course, getting to know my couples on a personal level is one of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer. They originally met while working together at Citigroup in NYC, and a mutual friend suggested that the two meet. They went out for coffee (even though that’s not Margo’s drink of choice), which turned into going out for lunch, then drinks, and the rest is history!
