Creating an Outdoor Wedding in New England at the Waveny House
Beyond the architectural charm that the mansion holds in every corner, as well as the dreamy landscaping, my favorite part about the Waveny House is the ability for your wedding celebration to take place outside under the open sky. For Phoebe + Mike’s wedding day, their guests had the unique opportunity to enjoy the outdoors during each part of the couple’s wedding celebration. The ceremony took place in one of the mansion’s historical gardens, afterwards allowing guests to explore the grounds during cocktail hour or sit and eat amongst friends in another sunken garden.
Wedding Receptions Under the Sky
Cocktail hour flowed into the outdoor reception location on the patio – which was by far the highlight of the night. Imagine toasting + dining with your closest friends + family while being able to bask in the warm summer glow on the patio. As the night progresses you each get to watch the most breathtaking sunset stretch across the countryside and finally dip below the treeline.
Golden Hour Portraits
P + M stole a handful of moments with me to run out to the fields behind the venue during golden hour. With the guests laughing + enjoying the evening behind them on the patio, the two had the chance to enjoy a quiet moment with just the two of them, being fully present and savoring the love + serenity surrounding them on this day.
Dancing Amongst the Stars
The outdoor celebrations do not stop there, as the patio, which is adorned with twinkling lights, becomes the perfect canvas for a night filled with nonstop dancing under the moon. P + M’s day felt like magic throughout each moment, and being outdoors in nature truly elevated the celebration in every way. Guests made their way to the grounds as the night progressed, taking walks to see the full moon that was shining upon them, creating lasting memories as the remaining guests danced the night away.
